Cairns Art Gallery Curator, Kylie Burke will share insights into the research behind the curation of the exhibition Ellis Rowan: Colonialism and Nature Painting and discuss the breath-taking work of Australian artist and illustrator, Ellis Rowan. Ellis Rowan was no mere ‘lady flower painter’ and was in fact a fascinating character who is as well known for her adventures and flower-hunting expeditions as she is for her stunning paintings.
This is a free event and all are welcome to attend.
